About the recipe
There’s something deeply comforting about a bowl of chocolate mousse — silky, rich and quietly luxurious. This version is my simple, purely delicious chocolate mousse, made with nourishing ingredients that feel as good as they taste. It’s high in protein, naturally low in sugar and wonderfully satisfying, yet still delivers that classic, indulgent chocolate experience.Silken tofu gives the mousse its beautifully smooth, creamy texture while adding a generous boost of plant protein. Dark chocolate (85–90%) brings depth, richness and antioxidants, while a spoonful of nut butter adds body and that irresistible velvety finish. The result is a mousse that feels decadent but balanced — the kind of dessert you can enjoy after dinner without feeling heavy. It’s also quick to make: simply blend, chill and serve. Perfect for a quiet evening in, a special date night, or whenever you want something chocolatey and restorative. With magnesium-rich cacao to help the body relax and ingredients that support steady blood sugar, this is chocolate mousse with benefits — luxurious, comforting and designed to be savoured slowly with someone you love.

Ingredients
- 300 g silken tofu drained, room temp
- 100 g dark chocolate 85–90%, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 tablespoon raw cacao powder optional, for extra depth and magnesium
- Pinch of flaked sea salt
- 1 generous tablespoon cashew or macadamia nut butter
- 1 generous tablespoon coconut yoghurt
EMBELLISHMETS
- strawberries champaign
Method
- GENTLY melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of barely simmering water, or in short bursts in the microwave. Allow to cool slightly so it doesn’t seize when blended.
- COMBINE the drained silken tofu, melted chocolate, cacao powder (if using), salt, nut butter and coconut yoghurt to a high-speed blender or food processor.
- BLEND until completely smooth, thick and glossy.
- SPOON the mousse into serving glasses or a dish to share.
- REFRIGERATE for at least 1 - 2 hours to allow it to firm up and develop that classic mousse texture.
- ENJOY straight from the fridge. You can finish with a dusting of cacao powder on top or shaved dark chocolate, berries or a dollop of coconut yoghurt if you like.
Notes & Inspiration
Thanks to silken tofu and nut butter, this mousse offers a gentle protein boost while still tasting luxurious.
Dark chocolate and cacao are rich in antioxidants and magnesium, helping support relaxation and serotonin production.
Add espresso powder or a dash of vanilla for a different flavour profile.
A little bowl of something chocolatey, nourishing and deeply satisfying — proof that dessert can be both indulgent and beautifully balanced.
