About the recipe

Healthy green goddess dressing • Creamy herb dressing • Gluten free • High protein option
Fresh, vibrant, and incredibly nourishing — this green goddess dressing is one of those recipes that instantly transforms simple food into something truly special.
Made with creamy yoghurt, avocado, and a generous handful of fresh herbs, it’s packed with flavour while still being light, clean, and full of goodness. It’s the kind of dressing you’ll find yourself making on repeat — not just for salads, but drizzled over roasted vegetables, spooned onto grilled chicken, steamed salmon or tossed through chopped green cabbage.
Unlike traditional versions, this healthy green goddess dressing is naturally high in protein (when made with yoghurt), rich in healthy fats, and completely gluten free — making it perfect for anyone looking for a clean eating dressing, low carb sauce, or a gut-friendly, nourishing addition to everyday meals.
It takes just minutes to blend and keeps beautifully in the fridge, ready to elevate your meals all week.
Simple ingredients. Big flavour. Real nourishment.

Ingredients

Switch measurement units

  • ½ cup natural Greek yoghurt
  • 60 g baby spinach
  • ½ ripe avocado
  • 1 small bunch fresh basil
  • 1 small bunch flat-leaf parsley
  • 1 spring onion roughly chopped
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • splash of water 60 - 80 ml to blend

Method

  • Wash the herbs and spinach well.
  • Roughly chop the spring onion and halve the avocado.
  • Place the Greek yoghurt, spinach, avocado, basil, parsley, spring onion, lemon juice, sea salt and pepper into a high-speed blender.
  • Blend until smooth, creamy, and vibrant green. Add a splash of water to adjust the consistency to your liking.
  • Taste the dressing and adjust seasoning — a little extra lemon juice for brightness or salt for depth.
  • Use immediately or transfer to an airtight jar and store in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Chef’s Notes & Inspiration
This dressing is incredibly versatile — think of it as your go-to all-purpose green sauce.
Drizzle over salads, roasted vegetables, or grilled fish.
Spoon over chicken, tofu, or nourishing salad bowls.
Use as a dip for crunchy vegetables.
Thin with a little water or lemon juice for a lighter dressing for lettuce.
Plant-Based Alternatives (Dairy-Free Options)
If you prefer a plant-based version, simply replace the yoghurt with:
Unsweetened coconut yoghurt (thick and creamy)
Almond milk and a splash of olive oil.
Silken tofu (for a higher protein, neutral flavour option)
Soaked cashews blended with water and lemon juice (for a rich, creamy finish) I also love to add 2 tablespoons of nutritional yeast flakes to plant versions.
Each option creates a slightly different flavour profile, but all are equally delicious and nourishing.
